Hades has already completed his puppy vaccination series and is fully vaccinated, making him ready to begin exploring the world with his new family.
One of the biggest advantages of bringing home a slightly older puppy is the freedom it gives you. Rather than waiting for vaccinations to be completed, you can begin building your relationship right away through neighborhood walks, trips to pet-friendly stores, training classes, family outings, and new adventures together.
Hades has also had additional time to mature, continue learning, and build on the foundation we've started here. He's been introduced to daily routines, continued socialization, and the experiences that help puppies grow into confident adult dogs.

Personality & Temperament
Hades is the kind of puppy that's easy to live with.
He enjoys people, learns willingly, and approaches life with a quiet confidence that doesn't need to announce itself.
Throughout his evaluation, he consistently demonstrated a calm, cooperative attitude. He was happy to participate, but he never felt frantic or impulsive. Instead, he seemed content simply working alongside his handler and figuring things out together.
One of the qualities I appreciated most was his emotional balance.
He notices what's happening around him without becoming overwhelmed by it. If something surprises him, he takes a moment to process it, then continues moving forward. That ability to recover is one of the foundations of a stable adult dog.

Working Potential
Hades certainly enjoys learning, but I don't think his greatest strength is having a demanding job.
His greatest strength is companionship.
He has the kind of temperament that naturally fits into everyday family life. He enjoys training because it's another way to spend time with his people, not because he constantly needs something to accomplish.
That doesn't mean he won't enjoy obedience classes, Rally, trick training, or recreational scent work. I think he will. But what stands out most is how naturally he builds relationships.

What I Loved
One of my favorite things about Hades was how naturally content he was to simply be with people.
He wasn't constantly searching for the next toy or the next adventure. He seemed perfectly happy sitting nearby, accepting affection, and participating in whatever was happening.
There's something incredibly peaceful about that kind of personality. It isn't flashy. It doesn't demand attention.
But it's exactly the kind of temperament many families hope they'll find.
One Thing I'd Continue Building
If Hades were staying here, I'd continue building confidence through positive experiences and gentle exposure to new places.
Not because I have concerns.
Simply because puppies grow into confident adults by successfully navigating the world while they're young.
I'd also continue rewarding curiosity and independent problem-solving so he develops confidence in both himself and his relationship with his family.
The foundation is already there.
My job would simply be helping it continue to grow.
Living With Hades
Life with Hades is likely to feel calm, connected, and uncomplicated.

As he matures, Hades is expected to develop a beautiful fully feathered Golden Retriever coat with the rich furnishings the breed is known for. He should mature into a large, blocky, athletic male with substantial bone, a broad head, and the classic expression that has made Golden Retrievers one of the world's most recognizable and beloved breeds.
His structure reflects the type of Golden Retriever we strive to produce—dogs that are not only beautiful but also sound, functional, and capable companions.
About This Pairing
Hades comes from our thoughtfully planned pairing between Willow and Boone, two accomplished AKC Golden Retrievers from proven champion show line pedigrees.
This is especially meaningful to us because it's Willow's retirement litter. After everything she's contributed to our program, this final litter represents the qualities we've always loved about her—her temperament, structure, and the kind, gentle nature that has made her such a wonderful companion.
Both parents have earned conformation titles, demonstrating that they meet the Golden Retriever breed standard for structure, movement, and overall quality. While championships don't guarantee temperament, they do reflect generations of selective breeding for correct breed type and soundness.
When planning this breeding, we looked far beyond titles. We evaluated health testing, temperament, pedigree, longevity, and genetic diversity. One of the things we especially appreciate about this pairing is its very low coefficient of inbreeding (COI) and the well-diversified pedigrees behind both Willow and Boone.
