Goldendoodle Coat Colors & Patterns

Goldendoodles are known not only for their loving personalities and intelligence but also for their beautiful, diverse coats. Their colors and patterns are the result of a careful blend of Golden Retriever warmth and Poodle elegance, creating puppies that are as visually stunning as they are affectionate.

Solid Colors

  • Genetically “e/e”

    • Cream / Light Gold: Soft, pale tones ranging from off-white to buttery cream—classic and timeless.

    • Golden / Dark Gold: Rich, warm shades that capture the iconic Golden Retriever look.

    • Red / Apricot: Vibrant, reddish-orange hues that are striking and energetic.

  • Genetically “E/e or E/E” & “b/b”

    • Chocolate / Brown: Deep, earthy brown shades

  • Genetically “E/e or E/E” & “B/b or B/B”

    • Black: Sleek, solid black coats, less common but highly coveted.

Parti & Patterned Coats

  • Genetically “sp/sp”

    • Parti: A white base accented with large patches of another color, such as red, chocolate, black, or gold. Perfect for families who love unique, eye-catching markings.

  • Genetically “S/sp”

    • Abstract: A solid dog with white accents, usually found on the face, chest and/or feet.

  • Genetically “ky/ky” and “at/at” or “AY/at”

    • Phantom / Sable: Subtle or striking markings on the face, chest, and legs, often against a black or chocolate base.

  • Genetically “M/m”

    • Merle: Mottled or marbled patterns with gray, black, and blue tones, giving a dramatic, artistic look.
