Puppy Contract, Deposits & Health Guarantee
Our Commitment Doesn't End When Your Puppy Goes Home
Bringing home a puppy is a long-term commitment.
Our contracts, deposit policies, and health guarantees are designed to protect our puppies, support our families, and ensure every dog we produce has the best possible opportunity for a healthy and successful life.
We believe expectations should be clear before a puppy ever leaves our home. We encourage every family to review our policies carefully and ask questions throughout the process.
Why We Have Contracts & Policies
A puppy contract is not about making things complicated.
It is about ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities before bringing home a puppy.
Our agreements outline:
What we provide
What buyers can expect from us
What we expect from our puppy families
Reservation and deposit policies
Health guarantee details
Return and rehoming requirements
Ongoing breeder support
The goal is not legal language.
The goal is clarity.
Reservation Lists & Deposits
Most families join our reservation list before a litter is born.
A reservation fee secures a place on the reservation list and is applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy.
Reservations are honored in the order they are received.
Because breeding timelines, litter sizes, and puppy development cannot be guaranteed, reservation positions are tied to the reservation list rather than a specific puppy.
Puppy selections occur after temperament testing at approximately seven weeks of age, allowing families to make informed decisions based on each puppy's temperament, confidence, social engagement, workability, and overall suitability for their goals.
If the right puppy is not available, families may choose to defer to a future litter according to the terms outlined in our Deposit Agreement.
Review Our Deposit Agreement
Families are encouraged to review the complete Deposit Agreement before placing a reservation.
Health Testing Begins Before Breeding
Our health guarantee begins long before puppies are born.
Breeding dogs are selected based on temperament, structure, health testing, and overall suitability for our program.
Depending on age and eligibility, health testing may include:
OFA evaluations
PennHIP evaluations
Cardiac testing
Eye examinations
Breed-specific genetic testing
Health testing cannot eliminate every possible health concern, but it helps us make informed breeding decisions and reduce the risk of preventable hereditary conditions.

What Our Health Guarantee Does Not Cover
No breeder can guarantee that a living animal will never develop a health issue.
Our health guarantee is not a substitute for routine veterinary care and responsible ownership.
Owners remain responsible for:
Wellness examinations
Vaccinations
Parasite prevention
Nutrition
Exercise
Routine healthcare
Training and socialization
Like children, dogs require ongoing care throughout their lives.
Buyer Responsibilities
A puppy's development is influenced by both genetics and environment.
Families are expected to provide:
Appropriate veterinary care
Proper nutrition
Safe housing
Training and socialization
Routine grooming
Responsible ownership throughout the dog's life
Many challenges seen during adolescence are not health issues, but normal developmental stages that require structure, consistency, patience, and training.

Our Lifetime Commitment
One of the most important parts of our agreement is our commitment to every dog we produce.
If at any point during the dog's life you can no longer keep your dog, we require that you contact us first.
Our dogs should never enter shelters, rescues, Craigslist, Facebook rehoming groups, or other third-party placement programs without our involvement.
We remain committed to every puppy we produce for life and will help determine the best path forward if circumstances change.
Breeder Support After Adoption
When you bring home a puppy, you do not lose access to us.
We remain available to help with:
Training questions
Developmental concerns
Grooming guidance
Feeding questions
General support
While we cannot replace your veterinarian, groomer, or trainer, we are committed to helping our puppy families navigate the journey of raising a well-adjusted companion.
