Bringing Your Puppy Home
Helping Families Across the Country Welcome Home an Oregon's Legendary Goldendoodle
Bringing home a new puppy is one of life's most exciting milestones. Whether you live just down the road or across the country, our goal is to make the journey home as smooth, safe, and enjoyable as possible—for both you and your puppy.
Families from more than 20 states have welcomed an Oregon's Legendary Goldendoodle into their homes. Some make a weekend road trip, others fly to Oregon and carry their puppy home in the cabin, and some work with one of our trusted flight nanny partners. Every family's journey looks a little different, but they all begin the same way: finding the puppy that feels like the right fit.
Our focus has never been simply getting a puppy from Point A to Point B. It's helping you confidently prepare for the moment your new family member comes home.

Distance Doesn't Have to Stand Between You and Your Puppy
It's natural to assume you should choose a breeder close to home. After all, bringing home a puppy sounds much simpler when they're just a short drive away.
But for many families, choosing the right breeder becomes more important than choosing the closest breeder.
Our families often tell us they were drawn to our program because of our focus on temperament, thoughtful puppy raising, health testing, transparency, and the time we spend helping match each puppy to the right home. Once they found a program they believed in, the distance became something we could plan together.
Today, Oregon's Legendary Goldendoodles live with families in more than 20 states. Some are hiking mountain trails in Colorado, others are exploring California beaches, enjoying snowy Montana winters, or simply curled up on the couch with the families who waited months to bring them home.
Every pin on our family map represents someone who once asked the same question:
"Can we really bring home a puppy from Oregon?"
The answer has been yes—many times.

Why Families Choose Oregon's Legendary Goldendoodles
No one travels across the country simply because it's convenient.
Families travel because they find a program that aligns with what they're looking for in a lifelong companion.
While transportation is an important part of the process, it's only the final step in a much larger journey.
Our goal has always been to raise confident, well-prepared puppies and help each family find the puppy whose temperament and personality best fit their lifestyle. Long before travel day arrives, your puppy has already begun learning that the world is safe, people are kind, and new experiences can be approached with confidence.
That philosophy is what brings many of our families to Oregon.

Choosing the Right Way to Bring Your Puppy Home
Every family's journey looks a little different.
Some look forward to a road trip to Oregon. Others fly in and bring their puppy home in the cabin. Some choose the convenience of a trusted flight nanny, while others take advantage of one of our scheduled delivery trips.
There isn't one "right" way to bring home your puppy.
The best option depends on your family's schedule, where you live, your puppy's age, and what feels most comfortable for everyone involved. No matter which option you choose, we'll help you understand what to expect and guide you through the planning process.
Our goal is simple: helping your puppy arrive home safely so the real adventure can begin.
Picking Up Your Puppy in Oregon
For many families, the trip to Oregon becomes part of the story they'll tell for years to come.
What starts as a puppy pickup often becomes a memorable family vacation. We've watched families spend a few days exploring Oregon's beautiful forests, the rugged Pacific Coast, mountain scenery, waterfalls, vineyards, and charming small towns before beginning the journey home with their newest family member.
Every season offers something a little different—from spring wildflowers and summer beach days to vibrant fall colors and snow-capped mountain views in the winter. If you're planning to spend a little extra time in Oregon, we're always happy to share seasonal recommendations for places to explore, scenic drives, local restaurants, and family-friendly activities.
Of course, the highlight of the trip is finally meeting your puppy. It's a moment many families have spent weeks—or even months—looking forward to. You'll have the opportunity to ask any last-minute questions, review your puppy's go-home information together, and begin building your relationship from the very first moments.
Whether you're driving from another part of Oregon or flying in from across the country, we'll work with you to coordinate a pickup plan that fits both your schedule and your puppy's needs. Some families head home the same day, while others enjoy a few days exploring Oregon before beginning the journey home. There isn't a right or wrong approach—just whatever works best for your family.
For families traveling by car, we're happy to talk through meal timing, potty breaks, and what to expect during the drive home. Most puppies settle in quickly, spending much of the trip sleeping after the excitement of meeting their new family.
Flying Home Together
Many of our out-of-state families choose to fly to Oregon and bring their puppy home by air.
For younger puppies, many families fly into Oregon, meet their puppy, and carry them home in the aircraft cabin. While it may sound intimidating at first, most families are surprised by how smoothly the trip goes. Young puppies often spend much of the flight sleeping after the excitement of meeting their new family.
Many families also use airline miles or credit card travel rewards to make the trip even more affordable, turning puppy pickup into a memorable getaway while welcoming home their newest family member.
As puppies grow, they eventually become too large to travel comfortably in an under-seat carrier. At that point, airlines such as Alaska Airlines offer well-established pet transportation programs, with dogs traveling in a climate-controlled, pressurized area designed specifically for live animals. We've safely helped families use this option as well.
Every trip is a little different, and that's where we can help. We've guided many families through the process and are happy to help you think through the details, answer questions, and make a plan that fits your family's needs. You don't have to figure it all out on your own.
Flight Nanny Service
For families who aren't able to travel to Oregon, a trusted flight nanny can be an excellent option.
A flight nanny personally accompanies your puppy throughout the entire journey, traveling with them in the aircraft cabin from Oregon to your nearest airport. Your puppy remains with an experienced professional every step of the way and is never shipped as airline cargo.
We've worked with trusted flight nanny partners who specialize in transporting puppies and travel regularly. Because they do this so often, many families are pleasantly surprised to learn that hiring a flight nanny can be comparable to—or sometimes even less expensive than—making the trip themselves.
Throughout the journey, your flight nanny stays in communication, providing updates and coordinating your arrival so you'll know exactly when and where you'll meet your puppy.
If you already have a preferred flight nanny, we're happy to coordinate with them as well.
Scheduled Delivery Trips
Throughout the year, we occasionally schedule regional delivery trips when several families are bringing home puppies around the same time.
These trips have included areas throughout Washington and California, with additional destinations depending on our breeding schedule and where our puppy families are located.
When delivery trips are available, you'll often see those dates posted directly on our Available Puppies page and individual litter pages, making it easy to see whether one may line up with your timeline.
Meeting families along one of these routes allows us to personally hand off your puppy, answer any last-minute questions, and celebrate one of the most exciting days of your family's journey together.
Because these trips are planned around our existing schedule, they're never guaranteed—but when the timing works out, they can be a wonderful option for families living along the route.
Still Deciding?
Every family's situation is a little different, and we're always happy to help you think through the options.
Whether you're planning a road trip, considering a flight, curious about working with a flight nanny, or wondering if one of our upcoming delivery trips might fit your schedule, we'll help you find the option that makes the most sense for your family.

Preparing Your Puppy for the Journey Home
Long before travel day arrives, your puppy has already begun preparing for the adventure.
While no two journeys are exactly alike, our goal is to raise confident, resilient puppies who are ready to experience the world with curiosity rather than fear. The foundation for that confidence begins weeks before your puppy ever leaves our home.
Throughout puppyhood, we introduce age-appropriate experiences that help build confidence, encourage problem-solving, and teach puppies that new situations are safe and rewarding.
Building Confidence Before Travel
Every puppy develops at their own pace, but experiences may include:
Gentle handling by a variety of people.
Short car rides and new environments.
Age-appropriate crate exposure.
Everyday household sounds and novel noises.
Different surfaces, textures, and obstacles.
Puppy Social and supervised interactions with new people.
Opportunities to solve small challenges independently.
Positive experiences that build resilience rather than dependence.
Whether your puppy's journey home involves a short drive, a cross-country flight, or meeting a flight nanny, these early experiences help create a puppy that is better prepared to handle change.
Travel day isn't the beginning of your puppy's education—it's simply another chapter in it.
We Don't Just Prepare Puppies for Travel...
We Prepare Them for Life.
Our philosophy has always been bigger than getting a puppy from Oregon to your home.
Everything we do is designed to help puppies grow into confident, adaptable companions who can navigate everyday life with their families. The same confidence that helps a puppy settle into a car ride or airport also helps them adjust to a new home, meet new people, explore unfamiliar places, and recover from life's inevitable surprises.
That's why we spend so much time focusing on early development. The goal isn't simply a smooth trip home—it's giving your puppy the foundation to thrive for years to come.

What Goes Home With Your Puppy?
Bringing home your puppy means much more than taking home a wagging tail.
Every Oregon's Legendary Goldendoodle puppy goes home with a thoughtfully prepared go-home kit designed to help make those first few days as smooth and stress-free as possible. While some items may change over time as we continue improving our program, every family receives the essentials needed to help their puppy settle into their new home.
📁 Health & Puppy Information
Your puppy's folder includes important records and resources, including vaccination history, deworming records, microchip information, health records, and helpful information for the first days at home. Golden Retriever families also receive AKC registration paperwork.
🧸 Snuggle Puppy
One of the favorite items in our go-home kits, the Snuggle Puppy helps provide warmth and comfort during those first nights away from littermates. Many families tell us it quickly becomes their puppy's favorite bedtime companion.
💙 30 Days of Trupanion Pet Insurance
Every puppy goes home with 30 days of complimentary Trupanion pet insurance, giving families added peace of mind during those exciting first weeks together. Coverage begins immediately and expires automatically, allowing you time to decide what long-term insurance option is right for your family.
🦴 Toys & Enrichment
We include a variety of toys to encourage healthy play, confidence, and bonding as your puppy settles into their new home.
🦮 Nylon Slip Lead
A lightweight slip lead is included for those first walks, potty breaks, and early handling exercises.
🐾 Potty Training Supplies
We send home large potty pads along with one of our favorite potty-training tools—cedar chips. Since puppies have already been introduced to cedar chips during potty training here, continuing that familiar scent at home can help ease the transition.
🍽️ Food for a Smooth Transition
Your puppy goes home with a supply of the same Purina Pro Plan Salmon & Rice food they've been eating here, allowing you to transition gradually if you choose a different food later.
🦴 Long-Lasting Chew
Every puppy receives a safe, satisfying chew—such as a yak cheese chew, buffalo horn, or bully stick—to help redirect normal puppy chewing and provide a positive outlet during those first days at home.
❤️ Lifetime Support
Perhaps the most valuable thing your puppy goes home with isn't something that fits in the bag.
Our relationship doesn't end on pickup day. Whether you have questions next week, next month, or years from now, we're always happy to help. Watching our puppies grow is one of the greatest joys of what we do.

Distance Doesn't Define Family
The puppy doesn't know whether you drove fifteen minutes or flew two thousand miles.
They don't know whether you met them in Oregon, welcomed them at your hometown airport, or counted down the days until a flight nanny arrived.
What they do know is that they've found their family.
Over the years, we've watched families travel from more than 20 states to welcome one of our puppies home. Some drove across Oregon. Others flew across the country. Some made a family vacation out of the trip, while others counted the minutes until they met their puppy at the airport.
What they all had in common wasn't the distance they traveled.
It was the commitment they made to finding the right puppy.
That trust means more to us than we can put into words.
We're honored every time a family chooses to make the journey, and we're committed to helping make that experience as smooth, enjoyable, and memorable as possible.
Because bringing home a puppy isn't about how far you traveled.
It's about where your journey begins.
Your Journey Doesn't End Here

It depends on where you live.
Many families are surprised to learn that we often recommend flying—even for destinations like Seattle or the San Francisco Bay Area. A short direct flight can be much quicker and easier than spending many hours on the road with a young puppy.
We're happy to help you compare the options.

If your puppy is young enough and meets the airline's size requirements, yes. This is generally our preferred way for families to fly home because your puppy stays with you throughout the journey.

As puppies grow, they eventually outgrow airline cabin requirements. When that happens, airlines such as Alaska Airlines offer safe, climate-controlled, pressurized transportation designed specifically for live animals. We've helped families use this option successfully and can walk you through the process if it's the best fit.

I've flown home with several of my own puppies over the years, and by the time we landed, they already felt like they were my puppy. Spending those first hours together often creates a wonderful foundation for the bond you'll continue building once you're home.
The journey isn't something to worry about—it's often one of the very first adventures you'll share together.
