Mini Goldendoodles

Lady & Alastor

Mini Goldendoodle Puppies | 25–35 lbs

Repeat Pairing • Wavy Coats • Companion, Service & Therapy Prospects

Planned for Spring 2027

A Repeat Pairing We Already Know and Love

There is something especially valuable about repeating a pairing when you have already had the opportunity to raise, observe, and temperament test the puppies it produced.

With Lady × Alastor, we are not relying only on pedigrees or hoping two nice parent dogs will complement one another.

We've already seen what they can produce.

Their previous litter gave us a broad range of family-companion temperaments along with puppies demonstrating the confidence, motivation, resiliency, human engagement, and workability we look for when evaluating potential service and therapy prospects. Several puppies combined very strong human focus with excellent confidence and willingness to work, while others showed us that their best future would simply be as wonderful companions.

That variety is exactly why we temperament test every puppy individually.

Our goal is never to make every puppy fit the same mold.

It's to understand who each puppy is and help place them accordingly.

Oregon’s Lovely Little Lady

Meet Lady

Lady brings the maternal side of this pairing and has already shown us what she can contribute when paired with Alastor.

Because this is a repeat litter, we have the advantage of evaluating not only Lady herself but also the puppies she and Alastor have already produced together.

That history gives us significantly more information than a first-time pairing ever could.

Rose Hill's Trippin' on Merle

Meet Alastor

Alastor is a brown merle Moyen Poodle whose size, color genetics, and temperament make him an especially exciting match for our Mini and Medium Goldendoodle program.

He brings beautiful multicolor possibilities while maintaining the qualities we care about far more than color: trainability, confidence, workability, and an engaging temperament.

This repeat pairing allows us to build on what we already know about how his qualities combine with Lady's.

Why We Are Repeating This Litter

The strongest reason to repeat Lady × Alastor is simple:

We liked what we saw.

Their previous puppies demonstrated the kind of temperament range that allows us to match dogs thoughtfully rather than trying to sell every puppy to the same kind of home.

We saw puppies with strong natural human engagement, excellent motivation, confidence, environmental stability, and the ability to recover and continue working after challenges. Gnocchi, for example, showed very high confidence, motivation, resiliency, and human focus while also demonstrating a nice off switch. Fettuccini showed similarly strong confidence, motivation, resiliency, and human focus. Ditalini was described as a constant companion who wanted to stay involved and showed very high motivation, confidence, resiliency, and touch tolerance.

We also saw puppies whose temperament told us they were better suited to companion homes than working placements. Ziti, for example, showed lower resilience around commotion and was specifically noted as not being a good fit for ESA or therapy work. Penne was highly people-focused and motivated but slower to warm up and less confident in her own ability.

That is valuable information.

It means we know this pairing can produce genuine working potential, but we also know better than to label an entire litter as service or therapy dogs before we've met the individual puppies.

Expected Size

We expect Lady & Alastor's puppies to mature around:

25–35 Pounds

That places them within our Mini Goldendoodle range.

For many families, this is an incredibly versatile size: substantial enough for hiking, training, sports, and active family life while remaining easier to lift, travel with, and fit into everyday routines than a larger Standard Goldendoodle.

Adult size is always an estimate rather than a guarantee. Genetics can produce variation even among puppies in the same litter.

Expected Colors & Coats

We expect this pairing to produce:

  • Black

  • Blue Merle

  • Phantom

Puppies are expected to have wavy, furnished coats with the lower-shedding qualities many families look for in a Goldendoodle.

This pairing is especially appealing for families who love multicolor Poodles and Goldendoodles but want coat type and temperament to matter every bit as much as color.

Color may catch your attention.

Temperament is what you live with.

Temperament We Expect

The previous Lady × Alastor litter gives us a useful roadmap.

We expect a mix of puppies ranging from confident, highly engaged working prospects to softer or more independent family companions. Across the scorecards, we saw strong examples of motivation, human focus, confidence, resiliency, toy engagement, touch tolerance, and environmental stability, but those qualities were not identical in every puppy.

That is exactly what we expect from a thoughtfully bred litter.

Some puppies may naturally orient toward their handler and thrive with advanced training.

Others may be happiest as active family dogs.

Some may be softer and more thoughtful.

Others may walk into the world assuming every new experience is worth exploring.

Our job is to identify those differences before families make their selections.

Family Companion Potential

Not every puppy needs a career.

For most families, the goal is an enjoyable dog that fits naturally into everyday life.

The previous Lady × Alastor litter included puppies with moderate energy, good engagement, affectionate temperaments, and the ability to participate without requiring constant attention. Some showed especially nice off switches, while others were happiest when actively working with their people.

We expect this repeat litter to again offer options for families looking for a trainable Mini Goldendoodle that can join them for walks, outings, vacations, training classes, adventures, and ordinary life at home.

Service & Therapy Potential

This pairing has already shown us that it can produce puppies with legitimate advanced-training potential.

Several puppies from the previous litter demonstrated combinations of high motivation, strong human focus, confidence, resiliency, and low environmental sensitivity—qualities we pay close attention to when evaluating potential working dogs.

That does not mean every puppy from this litter will be appropriate for service or therapy work.

Working placement depends on the individual puppy.

Temperament, resiliency, emotional sensitivity, human focus, energy, environmental stability, and the specific type of work all matter.

Families seeking a future service or therapy prospect should tell us that on their application so we can evaluate those needs carefully as the puppies develop.

Why Temperament Testing Matters

The previous litter is also a perfect example of why we don't allow families to choose based solely on a photo.

Two puppies can be equally beautiful and require completely different homes.

One may have outstanding human focus but carry too much emotional sensitivity for therapy work.

Another may have tremendous confidence and motivation but prefer toys or environmental exploration over constant handler engagement.

Another may have exactly the combination of confidence, resiliency, workability, and social connection needed for advanced training.

You cannot see those differences in a puppy portrait.

At approximately seven weeks, every puppy receives an individual temperament evaluation looking at traits including:

  • Human and dog assertiveness

  • Confidence

  • Motivation and workability

  • Nerve strength and resiliency

  • Energy

  • Prey drive

  • Human focus

  • Tenderheartedness

  • Touch tolerance

  • Sound and sight sensitivity

  • Problem solving and nose use

Families receive the temperament information before puppy selections begin.

How Our Puppies Are Raised

Every Lady × Alastor puppy will be raised through our structured early-development curriculum using primarily Badass Breeder principles with Puppy Culture elements.

That includes age-appropriate neurological and scent work, handling, novelty, problem-solving, environmental exposure, confidence building, household experiences, and early foundations for life with their future families.

The goal isn't to create puppies that never experience stress.

The goal is to raise puppies that learn how to experience the world, recover, think, and continue forward.

Puppy Selection

Puppy selections take place after temperament testing, typically around 7½ weeks.

Before making their selection, families receive the evaluation information so they can consider:

  • Temperament

  • Lifestyle fit

  • Working goals

  • Energy

  • Confidence

  • Human engagement

  • Coat

  • Color

  • Gender

  • Personal preference

We are happy to guide families through those decisions, and we reserve the right to veto a placement if we believe a puppy and household are not a good match.
